On my way home from a ride, i passed by the funeral home that office Brian Moore is at. The street is closed for a 1/2 mile so guests can park. There are cops everywhere... never seen so many. The like was 100 yards long. There were command posts, the 7/11 had a post on the roof with rifles, some had on full body armor and automatic weapons.
I reached a point in passing that I felt it was more respectful to walk and not ride. I walked about 4 blocks stopping across from the funeral home to remove my helmet and say a prayer. Then it hit me that he was only 25 years, the same age as Toby. I gathered myself and continued to walk. One cop asked if I was alright and i told him "I pray I never see anything like this again". He replied "so do I but I doubt it".
I must of rode for a mile before I stopped seeing blue ribbons on all the street poles.
It's a sad day.

One of the managers I work with here at NorthShore is a good friend of the family and coached Brian (basketball) when he was in High School. My heart goes out to his family.
I'm not an air cooled snob , I like them all !

Brian lives two streets over from me. Its a zoo by my place with the media, cops, friends and family turning out. I think they said they are expecting 30k people to show up to the wake tonight.
C actually had him in her class when she was a student teacher. She grew up here and taught dance in plainedge for like 20 years. Alot of her dance students know him and are posting pics on FB as a small kid. One pic was of him at Halloween... get this... dressed as a cop. Super sad stuff.
Plainedge is a very small community, and everyone knows everyone.
Very somber time in my neighborhood. Cherish those close, people..... enjoy every second like its your last. One persons poor judgement can F it all up.

Re: Rode past the funeral home
The news tonight said that there's "chatter" about police funerals being hot spots for terrorist attacks. Such a sad statement on man's inhumanity to man. Troubled times in which we live.Glenn wrote:...There were command posts, the 7/11 had a post on the roof with rifles, some had on full body armor and automatic weapons.

Keep working at it and it gets done!!

...So true. Scary that we bring little kids into this crazy world. Its up to us to keep the faith and rise above. This too shall pass.....

Must of been 1000 motorcycles and the procession was over 4 miles long.

If the cops were trying to send a message, they did it loud and clear.
