New stuff!!

My neighbors uncle had VW stuff to part with so I took a road trip to save it. I got a 1600 engine that he was running in a 72 bug. It looks like it has some custom tins over the cylinders. It came with weber dual carbs but not both are mounted and it has an oversized exhaust system. This engine has some serious weight It spins real easy and the oil stick was so clean. It did not leave a drop of oil over the long ride home. The shroud is a different set up from what I am used to but everything looks good

There was a lot of other parts and items included. Got an engine stand. Another huge exhaust that has never been used and some neat service manuals that I have not seen before.

Got everything secured for the winter so come spring I'll take an inventory on what to keep or give up.

:P

Those fan shrouds are the worst, you have to remove the stock oil cooler to use them.

Weber Progressive carb (crap)
009 distributor
Generator needs to be rotated 90* clockwise so the cooling vent is in the correct location.

Still... it might be a good engine.

Figured you would have an opinion. Just figured I would rescue it rather than seeing it trashed. Don't have any plans for it but always good to have a backup.
