Today marks the official end of production of the beloved and venerated Volkswagen Bus. To mark the day, the the Bay Pride Alliance has teamed up with Kenneth Mitchell of PaintedBus Artwerks to fashion a recreation of the iconic "crying bus".
This bus is meant to be shared, like our beloved buses it too wants to travel to the far away places that it's namesake is famous for taking all of us. Please, feel free to share the crying bus on all social media, but leave the #baypridealliance hashtag on the logo, and use it in your posts so we can see how far the crying bus travel! Let's see this go viral! Look for info on FREE decals from the BPA coming shortly!

It has had quite a history and spanned generations. I like the fact that I can say I am a proud owner and am sad that its road trip on the factory line has come to an end!! :?
Keep working at it and it gets done!!

Ok folks!
Here we go...

Because of the holiday's the printer will be a bit delayed with sticker production. BUT, the proofs are in my inbox and the pricing is right where I need it to be!
Printing will be starting just after Christmas and I want to be ready to ship!

So, in response to the MASSIVE response and inundation of PMs I have received between TheSamba, and several Facebook pages and people that have asked out on the forums for decals the best way to handle distribution is as follows.

Get yourself an envelope capable of accommodating a 3" X 3" sticker. (The average size 10 will work just fine)
Write your name and address in the "to" part of the envelope and slap a stamp on it. Then, fold that sucker in half and slip it inside another envelope addressed to:

Michael Hoddinott
48 Tamarack Street
East Northport, NY 11731

Slap a stamp on that one too and drop it in your nearest snail mail box.

When it gets here, (and when stickers are ready to ship) I'll drop your FREE sticker in your self addressed, stamped envelope and your own crying bay will be on it's way.

Now, here's the rules.

1) Since these are free, try not to beat me up asking for 10... If you have two buses, three buses, I'll try and accommodate requests based ENTIRELY on how many envelopes I get in the mail. If you would like to request more than one, leave a post it note in your envelope with the number. If I can handle it, I will.

2) In return for your free sticker, we ask you keep the #baypridealliance on the bottom; please don't cut it off. Then, with your sticker on your bus, post photos back to TheSamba, Facebook, Instagram, and twitter. If you can include the #baypridealliance hashtag great! This, will help us see how far the stickers travel!

Let's get this going!

Mike

Just 75 stickers left of the first printing! If you want a sticker, get an envelope in the mail to me or let me know you'll be coming to a DVG meeting so I can stick some off to the side for you!

and that's it folks!

We made it through the first run of stickers!
The next order is due to arrive on March 5, so if you still want a FREE Crying Bay sticker from the Bay Pride Alliance, make sure to shoot me off your Self Addressed Stamped Envelope.

Grab yourself two envelopes, on the first write the address where you receive your mail, stick a stamp on it and fold it up and stick it inside another envelope. This time put my mailing address:

Michael Hoddinott
48 Tamarack Street
East Northport NY 11731

Put a stamp on that 'sucker too and stick it in the mailbox with the rest of your snail mail.

Need more than one? Have two buses? Thats ok... Just write me a note and stick it in the envelope.

"But Mike, I don't understand why its free!"

Simple, this was a reinterpretation born from a chat I had with PaintedBus' Ken Mitchell. If you haven't seen his work, make sure to check him out on Facebook, TheSamba and on his website http://www.paintedbusart.com

So, here is the rules... You CAN NOT resell the stickers. You CAN share them, and ask for more to share if you need. But, you cannot profit on my gift to you.

As a sign of respect for Ken, and Myself, as well as for GIVING YOU something that I paid for myself, I ASK that you please leave the #baypridealliance hashtag on the bottom of the sticker.
Share photos of your sticker and your bus on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram (or whatever social networking site you use!) with the #baypridealliance hashtag so I can see how many people are enjoying the stickers!
