How can we improve the site?

Google & Security Certificates

Over the course of the coming weeks you may start seeing a warning from your browser, especially so in the early stages with Google Chrome.
Google now captures almost 90% of internet traffic through one of it's in house metrics, and Chrome is undoubtedly one of the most popular browsers in use. Because of this, Google pretty much "owns" (or at least steers the direction of) the internet, and it's future.
That said, Chrome is looking to make internet more secure by validating a certificate each time the browser connects to a site.
I have not begun to look into this upgrade yet, but have been getting "warnings" from our host regularly that it is coming.
If you look up in the address bar, you likely see www.dasvolks.com, perhaps your browser still shows http:// - therein is the problem.
http is being devalued in favor of https wherein the s indicates "secure" or that google was able to authenticate that you are actually connected to our website and not to someone pretending to be us (why anyone would - is beyond me)
This is intended for any site that uses usernames and passwords, especially those who collect personal data and financial information. Unfortunately, forums fall into this capture.
So you may start to see a new pop up or an indicator in the address bar saying that the site is not secure, or that you should not enter personal data or information into the site because it can be stolen by attackers - to this I say:
FUCK IT! We've never been secure! You will continue to see this message until I decide if or how to install the security certificates.
